Tom Staar has spent the last few years solidifying his name amongst the most adaptable and durable within the ever-changing house music scene. 2016 saw an evolutionary year of development, where the kingpin of “The Cartel” graced such labels as Spinnin, Size and Axtone. Tom also cemented his reputation receiving an IDMA award for his collaboration with Kryder and The Wulf, ‘De Puta Madre’.
Following these successes, the summer saw a continued presence at some of the best nightclubs in the world including Womb Tokyo, Ministry Of Sound London, Space Miami, Ushuaia and Pacha Ibiza as well as main stage performances at some of the worlds biggest festivals, Sensation White, Tomorrowland and A Summer Story to name a few. The momentum continued throughout the fall season with ‘The Funkatron’ rocketing to number 2 on Beatport’s Progressive House chart, and the massive anticipation of his own Cartel record ‘Me Sueno’ paying off with another Beatport top 10 (House). Further music came in the form of stand out remixes of Federico Scavo’s ‘Que Pasa’ and Armin Van Buurens ‘Dominator’ which rounded off the year.
From the launch of ‘The Cartel’ record label in the summer, Tom spearheaded the movement into the live arena from the US and through mainland Europe, including at the world famous Ministry of Sound, and will include Asia Pacific in 2017. Once again evolving his hallmark sound into the year, Tom has mutiple remixes coming over the next few months including Luciana – Yeah Yeah, Basement Jaxx – Bingo Bango and his version of Ibiza classic Montano Itza Trumpet thing, along with original music to come on Spinnin and Cartel.
